In 1831 a young amateur scientist, Charles Darwin, boarded HMS Beagle on an epic five-year voyage of discovery. His observations and later reflections resulted in a book that profoundly impacted the world.

2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his ‘Origin of Species’. The Voyage that Shook the World retraces Darwin’s journey, exploring the places and discoveries crucial to the formulation of his Theory of Evolution.

Filmed in South America, the UK, North America, Australia and Europe, The Voyage features dramatic period recreations and stunning nature cinematography interwoven with scholars sharing their perspectives on the man and the controversy.

This 52-minute documentary has been produced by CMI (Creation Ministries International – www.creation.com). CMI is a non-profit organisation comprised of people who are both Christians and scientists committed to explaining that Christian belief is not divorced from scientific discovery.

Objectives

In the interests of truth and equality the Causeway Creation Committee has the following objectives:

To use the Genesis Discovery Club as a means to teach children the truth about creation and salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

To have the truth of Biblical creation presented as an alternative theory in a new Giants Causeway Visitor Centre as well as in museums, schools and any other centres where relevant.

To provide creation resources for churches, schools and any other organisations, enabling them to more effectively instruct children and others about creation.

To provide and support research with an open mind - exploring origins and history of human life in our local area.

To participate in creation outreach and engaging in dialogue with members of the public.
